(Publ. 1 JUN 2015) Apple has overtaken Google in the top of the world’s most valuable brands. The brand Apple is valued at a staggering $ 247 billion. The runner-up, Google, is valued to “only” $ 174 billion.
The annual study is conducted by the American company Millward Brown. According to Millward Brown, it is primarily the successful launch of the iPhone 6, which is the basis for the high valuation, which has made Apple overtake Google. Below you can see the list of the top 25 most valued brands. One consistent trend is that technology based companies are dominating this year’s list. Coca-Cola, which for many years was the most valued brand, is now found in number 8, with a value of 84 billion dollars.
The highest placed newcomer is Alibaba Group, in place 13 with a valuation of $ 66 billion. The Chinese e-commerce giant is placed higher on the list than the two well-established competitors Amazon.com and eBay.
Two Swedish brands are found among the 100 most valued brands; IKEA and H&M. Both companies fall in the ranking from last year’s study. IKEA, valued at $ 17 billion, and are found in place 64. H&M comes in place 75, with a valuation of $ 14 billion.
